Accessibility Audit with Report and Fix Plan A review that ends in a plan, not a pile of warnings

A fixed-scope review of your website against WCAG 2.1 AA, delivered as a prioritised report and a fix plan your team or ours can act on.

An accessibility audit answers one question: what, specifically, stops disabled people using your website, and what should you fix first? We agree the scope and the price before we start, test a defined sample of your pages against WCAG 2.1 level AA, and hand over a report and a fix plan. You can give the plan to your own developers, to another agency, or to us.

What we test

We choose the page sample with you so that it represents the site: the home page, a content page, a form, search or filters if you have them, and for a shop the basket and checkout. Each template type counts, because one faulty template repeats across hundreds of pages. WCAG 2.1 groups its requirements under four principles (perceivable, operable, understandable, robust) and three levels. We test to level AA: for websites, the European standard EN 301 549 refers to the level A and AA criteria of WCAG 2.1, and the UK government requires WCAG 2.2 AA of public sector sites.

How the testing works

Automated checkers are quick and catch a share of the problems, such as missing labels or poor contrast, but they cannot judge whether an alternative text is meaningful or whether a dialog traps keyboard focus. So we add manual work:

  1. keyboard-only walkthrough of every key journey;
  2. testing with a screen reader on the sampled pages;
  3. zoom and text-resize checks, and a review of colour use;
  4. review of forms, error messages, links and heading structure;
  5. a look at video, audio and downloadable documents.

What you receive

The report lists every finding with the page, the affected WCAG criterion, a plain description, a screenshot or code reference, and a rating by impact on real users. A short summary at the front is written for decision makers. The fix plan puts the work in order: blockers first, then recurring template issues, then smaller items. It names the likely cause, such as the theme, a plugin or editorial habits, so you know whether the fix is a code change or a content change.

Which law this serves

In Great Britain, the Equality Act 2010 expects service providers to make reasonable adjustments, including for services provided on a website. The Equality and Human Rights Commission's Code of Practice for services, in force since 5 August 2026, describes that duty as anticipatory: you consider the barriers disabled people could face in advance rather than wait for a complaint. An audit gives you documented evidence that you looked for barriers and have a plan. If you sell to consumers in the EU, the European Accessibility Act, applicable since 28 June 2025, may also be relevant under the national law of the country you sell into. The audit does not replace legal advice.

From audit to fix

You can order the audit as a stand-alone deliverable. If you want the fixes done as well, the work follows the plan and we re-test the affected pages afterwards. Audit prices are given on request once we know the number of templates; websites themselves start from 300 € excl. VAT, see pricing. To start, request a quote with your site address, or read about our wider services.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an audit cost?

The price depends on the number of page templates and is quoted on request before any work starts.

Will you test every page?

No. We test a sample that covers every template type and key journey, because template faults repeat across the site.

Do automated tools suffice?

They find part of the issues only. We add manual keyboard and screen-reader testing.

Can another agency use the fix plan?

Yes. The plan names the cause and the WCAG criterion for each finding so any developer can act on it.

Does the audit make us legally compliant?

No audit can promise that. It documents the barriers and a plan. For legal questions, consult a solicitor.
